Bartending Schools Of Oregon
There is a fair share of bartending schools in Oregon. They teach you to become a qualified bartender and also to attain all the necessary skills. Most of these schools are licensed by the Department of Education. But some may not be, so be sure to check them out before enrolling and paying your tuition.
Tuition varies from one school to another, but they’re all pretty similar based on the extensiveness of the courses. Most of the bartending schools in Oregon offer payment options that can fit everyone’s budget. Just be wary of any that appear to offer a bargain that’s too good to be true.
The courses include recipes for the commonly requested drinks. You also learn how to make the new, trendy “designer” drinks. You’ll learn not only the ingredients for these drinks, but how to make them as well. Instructions include the proper glassware to use for the different types of drinks, which garnishes to use to ensure the best flavor blends and even the order in which the ingredients are added.
Courses also include customer service instructions. A ready smile and great attitude can increase your business and tips quicker than anything else. There are instructions on learning to tell when someone’s had enough to drink and ways to refuse them service without causing any incidents. You’re also taught the best ways to ask for identification and what to look for to be sure you don’t serve alcohol to anyone under the legal drinking age.
You’ll also be trained on the common bar equipment, including, of course instructions on using the cash register and credit card machines. Many of the schools offer instructions on ordering and inventory control.
Some of the bartending schools of Oregon have more advanced courses that give instructions in bar management. Allowing you to move up into management positions or even open your own place.
Which ever school you choose, bartending school can lead to an exciting new profession. A profession which will allow you to enjoy your job instead of just working for a living, meet new people, and make good money.
